In the field of personal care and cleaning products, wet wipes have become a popular product in the global market due to their convenience. However, different types of wet wipes have significant differences in use, ingredients and production processes. Understanding these differences is crucial for consumer choice and foreign trade companies to accurately position the market.

In terms of use, wet wipes are mainly divided into three categories: household cleaning wipes, personal care wipes and industrial special wipes. Household cleaning wipes usually add surfactants and bactericidal ingredients, suitable for surface cleaning such as kitchens and furniture; personal care wipes focus on mildness, such as baby wipes avoid alcohol and fragrances, while makeup remover wipes may contain a small amount of oil ingredients to dissolve makeup; industrial wipes are designed for specific scenarios, such as car maintenance wipes contain antistatic agents, and medical wipes must meet sterility standards.

Differences in ingredients directly affect the use scenarios and safety of wet wipes. Ordinary cleaning wipes may contain disinfectants such as benzalkonium chloride, while products suitable for sensitive skin mostly use aloe vera or hot spring water extracts. It is worth noting that some wet wipes will add moisturizers (such as glycerin) or pH regulators to balance skin adaptability. Products exported to the European and American markets should pay special attention to the restrictions on chemical ingredients in REACH regulations.

Production technology also distinguishes product grades. Ordinary wet wipes use plain non-woven fabrics, while high-end products may use spunlace fabrics or bamboo fiber materials to improve softness. In terms of sterilization technology, medical-grade wet wipes need to be sterilized by ethylene oxide or gamma rays, while ordinary wet wipes are mostly sprayed with alcohol. Packaging design also affects the user experience. Independent small packages are suitable for travel scenarios, while family packs tend to be large-capacity sealed bags.

In recent years, the demand for environmentally friendly wet wipes has grown significantly. Flushable wet wipes use wood pulp and spunlace composite technology, and their acceptance in the European and American markets has increased year by year, but it should be noted that some countries still classify them as "non-degradable" products. Foreign trade practitioners need to choose appropriate product lines based on the certification requirements of the target market (such as EU CE or US FDA), while paying attention to consumers' preference trends for the concept of "zero addition".

Grasping the differences in the subdivision of wet wipes can not only optimize supply chain management, but also improve export profit margins through differentiated competition. As the awareness of healthy consumption increases, functional wet wipes (such as mosquito repellent and anti-allergy) may become a breakthrough in the emerging market.
